Amazon EU/UK toys: TIC Direct Validation, and why you can't upload documents yourself

Amazon requires flagged children's toys in the EU and UK (and US/CA) to go through an approved Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) provider. How it works per Amazon's guidebook.

Amazon's Direct Product Validation guidebook lists children's toys as covered in the US, Canada, the UK and EU stores. Under DPV, you choose an Amazon-approved TIC provider, which tests the product or verifies your existing reports. The TIC submits the results directly to Amazon, and sellers cannot upload compliance files themselves.

Before the deadline shown in Account Health, you must: pick a TIC and submit the TRF; pay the TIC; and send either samples or your existing external test reports or compliance documents. The TRF status must reach 'verifying' or 'passed' by the deadline. For the same ASIN across several EU stores, you create the TRF in one EU store and the status syncs to the others.

First actions

  1. Open Account Health and find the deadline for each ASIN.
  2. Choose an approved TIC and submit the TRF.
  3. Send samples, or existing reports that match the exact product.
  4. Check the TRF status reaches 'verifying' or 'passed' before the deadline.
