Already have a CPC and test report? Using existing reports in Amazon Direct Validation

There is no upload button for flagged toys any more. Send existing reports to an approved TIC for document verification instead. Covers the 12-month rule and what makes reports fail.

The problem

A common forum complaint: "We already have the CPC and test reports, but the page only shows a test provider selector, with no way to upload." That is how Direct Validation works. Existing reports are still usable, but only through an approved TIC provider's document verification, which is cheaper than full retesting.

Per Amazon's DV FAQ, reports from ISO/IEC 17025-accredited labs that meet the policy can still be valid. For North American marketplaces, the report must have been issued within the past 12 months. Older reports mean retesting. Reports can still be rejected for false information or incomplete testing.

How to fix it

  1. Check the report date. For US/CA, anything over 12 months old needs a retest, not a verification.
  2. Check that the report covers every rule cited on your CPC (for toys: ASTM F963 via 16 CFR 1250, lead, phthalates where they apply).
  3. Make sure product name, model/SKU, brand and photos match across the CPC, the test report and the ASIN. Variations can share a report only if the report clearly covers them.
  4. In the TRF, ask the provider for verification of existing reports and attach the CPC and full report (all pages).
  5. If verification fails, read the provider's feedback, fix the documents or retest, and resubmit. Amazon allows resubmission.
