Amazon rejected your General Certificate of Conformity (GCC): checklist

Common reasons a GCC is rejected on Amazon (wrong certificate type, missing rules, mismatched product, wrong certifier) and how to fix them.

The problem

A GCC is the certificate for regulated products that are not children's products. Sellers on Seller Forums describe GCC requests marked "documentation isn't sufficient" and long review times. Typical causes:

How to fix it

  1. Confirm whether the product is a children's product (primarily intended for children 12 and under). If yes, you need a CPC, not a GCC.
  2. List the CPSC rules that apply to the product and check each is cited and supported by a test or a reasonable testing program.
  3. Make the certifier your company as importer, with a records contact.
  4. Match product name, model and brand to the listing and report.
  5. Resubmit the GCC with the supporting report(s) in one package.

Check your documents before you resubmit

Upload your CPC or GCC and the test report. The free pre-check compares identifiers, cited rules, lab, dates and certifier across the documents and returns a red/amber/green list of what to fix.
