Amazon says the test report photo doesn't match your product: what to do
When the product photo in a lab report doesn't match the listing images, Amazon may reject the report. Here's how to fix it without retesting everything.
The problem
Lab reports usually include a photo of the sample tested. Sellers have had CPCs and reports rejected because those photos didn't match the listing: a different color, packaging, logo, or an unbranded factory sample. To the reviewer, a mismatched photo suggests the report may be for a different product.
How to fix it
- Compare the report photo with your main image and packaging. Note what differs (logo, color, shape, accessories).
- If the tested sample was the same product, ask the lab whether it can reissue or amend the report with photos of your branded production sample.
- If colors or variants are missing, ask whether the lab can add them, or test them; chemistry tests often need each color/material covered.
- If the product changed (new material, factory or design), a new test is usually needed.
- Resubmit the corrected report together with the matching CPC.
Check your documents before you resubmit
Upload your CPC or GCC and the test report. The free pre-check compares identifiers, cited rules, lab, dates and certifier across the documents and returns a red/amber/green list of what to fix.
Run the free pre-checkChecklist before resubmitting
- Report photo shows the branded production item
- All listed colors/variants covered
- Packaging and logo consistent
- CPC refers to the same report number
